    Hello John,
    Have you tried 1.6.5 the latest version. Turn black and report not running as root are two issues. Which both should be fixed in this version .

    Turn black, usually means you are in a network client can not talk to each other.

    Report not run as root usually means netcut crashed in root mode if you indeed grant root access.

    Can you give me a screenshot of the problem. I like to see status text.

    Netcut needs winpcap. It is a driver to sniff packet of your network.
